Rethinking Logistics

A knowledge base that links the design challenges of logistics buildings to metrics, the tools that calculate them and student projects from the Rethinking.Logistics studio at ARCHIP.

In 2026, students of the Rethinking.Logistics studio at ARCHIP (Architectural Institute in Prague) redesigned logistics buildings – warehouses, cross-docks, micro-hubs, data centres and recycling facilities. They followed a Double Diamond process: research the problem, define ambitions and metrics, then design and test alternatives with evidence.

The knowledge base collects what the studio learned: which design challenges logistics architecture faces, which metrics measure them (including metrics adopted from BREEAM, LEED or DGNB), which tools can calculate them, and how each project used them to make decisions – including the trade-offs and the gaps.
